Following an extensive professional playing career with experience in North America and Europe. Shel had the distinction of working for the Canadian Soccer Association as the National Teams Goalkeeper Coach from 2000-2006.
Shel currently holds a NCAC National B License and graduated from the University of Victoria in 1998 with a Bachelors Degree. His most memorable coaching moments include a second place finish at the FIFA U20 Womens World Championships in 2002 and a fourth place finish in the FIFA Womens World Cup in 2003. His playing highlights include playing professional soccer in Denmark with Hvidovre, FC.
